This analysis covered 200 articles published in print media (daily newspapers and weekly newspapers) in the period from May 15 to November 15, 2015, which included the key words transgender (person), transsexual (person), sex change, Trandha, Caitlyn Jenner, Bruce Jenner, Major Helena, Božo Vreča, Dajana Pospiš, Dolf Pospiš, Končita Vurst, gender identity. The texts were found in 15 media – in the daily newspapers Alo!, Blic, Danas, Dnevnik, Informer, Kurir, Naše novine, Politika, Pregled, Večernje novosti and in the weekly newspapers Nedeljnik, NIN, Novi magazin, Pečat and Vreme.
A total of 158 articles were processed, in which the topic was transmitted to a broader discussion or was in the primary focus, but what was important was the way in which trans people were mentioned. The value of the context in relation to trans people was analyzed in terms of presence of sensationalism, of recording of all significant participants and of respecting them. Another important category was if the text speaks about the trans people in accordance to their gender identity.
