Call for Applications: Methodologist / Data Analyst for Regional Research Coordination and Reporting
ERA – LGBTI Equal Rights Association for Western Balkans and Turkey is looking for an experienced methodologist or data analyst (individual or team) to support a regional research initiative under the EU-funded project Working Safe – Socio-economic Inclusion of the LGBTQI+ Community in the Western Balkans and Türkiye. The selected expert will be responsible for the preparation and implementation of the research methodology, coordination of data collection across seven countries, and development of a joint analytical report.
The aim of the research is to provide insight into existing labour rights protections and workplace support mechanisms for employees facing discrimination—particularly based on SOGIESC—and to identify gaps and areas for improvement. The research will be implemented in cooperation with ERA’s member organisations in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Türkiye.
Scope of Work
The successful applicant is expected to:
- Prepare a joint research methodology, including standardised questionnaires for employers and employees.
- Provide methodological guidance and technical support to ERA’s national partners.
- Ensure consistency and comparability of data collected across all seven countries.
- Clean, harmonise, and consolidate the collected data.
- Analyse the data to identify patterns related to labour rights and anti-discrimination in the workplace.
- Draft a comprehensive joint research report in English, including cross-country comparisons and practical recommendations.
- Participate in coordination meetings with ERA and partners throughout the process.
Expected Deliverables
- A finalised joint research methodology and data collection tools.
- Technical guidance materials for national research coordinators.
- A complete and cleaned dataset.
- One consolidated research report in English.
- A summary of key recommendations for dissemination to public institutions, civil society, and employers.
Timeline and Remuneration
The assignment is expected to be carried out between August 2025 and June 2026.
The total fee is 2,400 EUR (gross), covering all preparation, coordination, analysis, and reporting work, including applicable taxes. During the first months of the assignment, Methodologist will be responsible for creation of the questionnaire, and project partners will continue collecting data based on agreed targets in their respective countries. After the data collection, the Methodologist will be responsible for analyzing the data and developing the joint report with findings and recommendations.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should demonstrate:
- At least 3 years of experience in designing, coordinating, or analysing multi-country research projects.
- Proven expertise in quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis.
- Background in human rights, labour rights, LGBTIQA+ rights, or anti-discrimination.
- Familiarity with the socio-political context of the Western Balkans and Türkiye.
- Experience working with civil society organisations (an asset);
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Availability for virtual coordination meetings throughout the assignment period.
