ERA – LGBTI Equal Rights Association for Western Balkans and Türkiye
(“We”, “us”, “our”) is a regional network of LGBTI organizations committed to advancing human rights through advocacy, research, and capacity building.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with EU Privacy Law, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This Privacy Notice (“Notice”) explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your Personal Data when you engage with us, whether through our website, communications, or participation in our activities.
1. WHAT PERSONAL DATA DO WE COLLECT AND WHY?
We collect different types of Personal Data depending on how you interact with us. These include:
- Newsletter subscriptions: Name and email address, processed with your consent via a third-party provider such as Mailchimp.
- Donations: Name, email, billing address, and other data required for processing your donation, collected via secure third-party platforms.
- Event registrations (e.g. conferences, trainings, workshops): Contact information and, where relevant, logistical details for your participation.
- Scholarship or participation forms: May include Special Categories of Data such as gender identity or sexual orientation, shared only when strictly necessary and always with your consent.
- Contact forms and direct communications: Name, email, and message content, used to respond to your queries or requests.
We collect this data based on your consent, or when necessary for fulfilling our legitimate interests or legal obligations.
2. WHO DO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH?
We work with carefully selected third-party service providers to manage and secure your data. We ensure that all partners handling your data provide protection equal to or greater than EU standards. Your data is not shared outside of the EEA unless appropriate safeguards are in place.
3. CHANGE OF PURPOSE
We will only use your Personal Data for the purpose it was collected. If we ever need to use it for a different purpose, we will inform you and explain the legal basis for doing so.
4. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR DATA?
We retain your Personal Data only as long as necessary, or until you withdraw consent. Retention periods are guided by our internal Data Retention and Destruction Policy.
