LGBTI Equal Rights Association for Western Balkans and Turkey
ERA – LGBTI Equal Rights Association for the Western Balkans and Turkey, will organize on 5-6 September the first regional workshop “Towards a Strategy for Campaigning on LGBTI rights in the Western Balkans and Turkey Region”.
The workshop, which will take place in Belgrade, aims to assist LGBTI organizations from the region to understand core elements of public campaigning, assess current capabilities and needs and identify advocacy priorities for campaigns at national level as well as plan future steps for a public campaign regional strategy.
The workshop will bring together 30 activists from the region who are directly involved with one or another component related to public campaigning as well as several international experts from IDAHOT Committee, NDI, ILGA Europe, PIRC UK etc.
The workshop facilitators will be Joel Bedos – IDAHO Committee, Amarildo Fecanji and Isidora Isakov – ERA, Elena Blackmore – PIRC UK, and Nebojsa Andric – Communications Expert. Laura Piazza from ILGA Europe and Claire House from Stonewall UK.
Some of the topics covered in this workshop will be a deeper knowledge and understanding of public campaigning, context analysis with regards to the topic in the region, as well as several exercises around value framing, message testing and digital campaigning.
The workshop is supported by the European Commission, National Democratic Institute (NDI) and IDAHO Committee and is organized in partnership with NDI, IDAHO Committee and ILGA-Europe.
